RMSEL Volunteers
For the safety of our students and staff, all RMSEL volunteers who will have any direct contact with students must first be cleared by a fingerprinted background check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In addition, many of our parents choose to become bus driver certified at RMSEL for chaperoning on our fieldwork and adventure trips. There are additional steps one must follow in order to be bus driver certified, after background clearance has been obtained, beginning with providing a copy of your Colorado driver’s license. Our liability insurance requires that we obtain a Department of Motor Vehicles driving record on any potential bus driver first, in order to confirm that our insurance will cover the driver.
If you are interested in volunteering or getting bus driver certification, click this link for the information for the fingerprint process. This is the only way to get background clearance for volunteering. It also includes the steps, after getting background clearance, for getting bus driver certification.

Where to Log Your Volunteers Hours
If you have already volunteered, thank you! You can record your hours here. We suggest that you record your hours as you give them as it is difficult to accurately recall dates and times at the end of the school year.
